We have made the difficult decision to pause the Jammie Drive for 2024. Our family has had a challenging year and we need to slow down and spend time with one another.

We LOVE doing the Jammie Drive every year but it does require a lot of time and mental bandwidth to execute. This was not a decision made lightly and we hope to return back and better than ever in 2025!

We encourage if you have any pj donations to drop them off directly to The Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU.

Below are frequently asked questions that we hope will be helpful as you participate in our Jammie Drive.

Thank you for your support!

Do you take gently used pjs?

We ask that all donations be new pjs with tags on the garments for cleanliness and hygiene reasons. Please DO NOT donate pjs that have been worn or without the original price tags intact.

Can we shop online for pjs?

Yes! We welcome jammies bought online. If ordering pjs online, please set the shipping address to the following:

What sizes of pjs do you take?

We take all sizes of pjs from newborn to teen sizes. While we love to collect a variety of sizes the bigger need donations are for infants and teens:

Holiday-themed jammies
Non-holiday-specific pjs are preferred (so they can be enjoyed year-round)
Pjs for infants and teenagers
Infants – onesies, pants, and zip-ups (not fleece, just cotton)
Kids – onesies, two-piece sets
Teens – pants and t-shirts

What pj sizes are the most needed?

While we love to collect a variety of sizes the bigger need donations identified by CHoR are for infants and teens.

For teens – pants and t-shirt pj sets
For infants – onesies, pants and zip-up pjs (cotton, not fleece) are preferred

Also, non-holiday-specific pjs are preferred because they can be enjoyed by children year-round.

Should we only buy holiday jammies?

While we of course love the holiday jammies and welcome those donations (holiday jammies were the inspiration for the jammie drive after all), ideally non-holiday-specific pjs are preferred.

Non-holiday-specific pjs support families who celebrate various holidays and non-holiday-specific pjs are even better because they can be enjoyed by children year-round!

We accept pj or coupon donations at our community partner drop-off locations as well as mailing donations. If mailing pjs or coupon donations, please set the mailing address to:

We accept coupon donations from any major retailer. Some stores we prefer to shop for quality and to maximize donations include:

When is the last day to make a donation to the Jammie Drive?

For this year's Jammie Drive, we will be accepting donations from November 19th through December 17th.

Some key deadlines to keep in mind for your donation:

Thursday, December 14th – Last day to donate coupon donations
Friday, December 15th – Last day to make a financial donation
Saturday, December 16th – Last day to make a physical pj donation

Are my Jammie Drive donations tax deductible?

At this point, the Jammie Drive is a grassroots effort by the Prettyman, Hall, and Lankford families, to address a human need in our local community. If you wish to make a tax-deductible donation, we encourage you to donate directly to the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU here.

The Story Behind the Jammie Drive

The Jammie Drive started by The Prettyman family in Richmond, VA in 2021 as a way to teach our children a tangible way to give back. We chose Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU for our donations because it's our local children's hospital and our son, Davin, had surgery there when he was only 10 months old.

The gift of pjs seemed relatable as something everyone regardless of how they celebrate the holiday season, can enjoy. People love buying cute pjs, they provide comfort through sensory touch, and parents, grandparents, and other family members love seeing everyone in matching jammies for treasured memories.
